Belletto Studio Airbrush Makeup

I finally got my hands around the whole color range of the Belletto Airbrush Makeup.  I'm very particular about different airbrush makeup because:
1. It is a good yet expensive investment. Being able to have that as an add on service for bridal, proms, balls etc can really boost your business
2. Airbrush makeup is very versatile, you can use with an airbrush machine or with the right brush (for some reason I don't like using a beauty blender with it, I feel as if the blender sucks up the product more than a brush)
3. A good one will provide sheer to medium, buildable full coverage and great for long wear i.e. Weddings, events, dates etc.

In the kit I purchased, I got all twelve shades that they offered. I did not get the full 14 or 16 colors because I got these thru Hautelook (PR for marketing them lol). I believe there are 2 more colors which are the darkest colors.
Their line has the usual undertones, ruddy (or pink) and yellow. All of their colors are labeled as F2-F10 and P for pink (ruddy, pink undertone) and Y for yellow undertone.
The top photo are the "P" colors. My skin tone is yellow so these colors pop out more on my arm. The bottom photo is the yellow colors. The color matching is pretty simple. I usually have to mix colors for me to get the right match but color F6  in the yellow undertone was a perfect match.
The coverage is sheer to medium. It is possible to build to full but I would recommend using a brush to build it to full coverage. I have acne scars so I need the full coverage. The coverage wasn't as great that I would get from a cream foundation so I used concealer as well. The foundation sets quickly, almost feels like powder.  I wouldn't recommend using powder all over the face.  It may make your skin look too powdery and dry. For oily skin, maybe just down the center. I think the glowy look (glowly not oily) on the rest of the face.  For someone who has dry/mature skin, I would make sure that they prep their skin with a very good moisturizer as this airbrush makeup, or any other, settles in to lines.  As with oily skin, you also want to use an appropriate primer for your skin condition and skin type.
I'm impressed by the formula and had it on for about 8 hrs. My skin was oily, as it usually is, but it seemed it was under control, not like an oil slick from frying bacon (YUCK!).

Remember, you don't need an airbrush system. You can use a kabuki or a regular foundation brush and stipple.

Eve Pearl HD Dual Cream Foundation

I recently ordered the Eve Pearl HD Dual Foundation thru Hautelook and I'm so excited to review this.
First off, the packaging is very classy.  The actual compact resembles chrome and is wrapped in a velvet bag.  In the bag is a little instruction paper that tells you how to apply the foundation.

When you open the compact, there are 2 shades which you can use for highlight and contour.  The shade I chose was Tan and let me tell you - this color was perfecto!  I'm a dark olive/tan and I have the hardest time finding the perfect shade.  A lot of the foundations I've purchased and used (and still use) have oxidizing agents in them which makes me look orange and darker than I am.  This foundation  did not oxidize, in fact, it stayed true to its color, what you see in the package is what you get.

Now the benefits straight from evepearl.com:
  • Long lasting wear that feels like your favorite skincare ... because it is skincare
  • Hydrates, protects & rejuvenates your skin’s texture and elasticity
  • Covers redness, discolorations, scarring, imperfections and more
  • For all skin types, especially sensitive skin
  • Available in 6-Shades
The texture of the foundation is like butter, but don't be fooled by the texture thinking it would just slick off.  I have oily/scenic skin, so I was a little hesitant with how this would work for my skin type.
I used a beauty blender (damp) to apply the foundation.  It was so easy to blend it into the skin. It literally melted into my skin. There was definitely coverage that I could build to full coverage and yet there was no cakiness. The finish is a Demi-matte finish; A healthy glow without the oil slick you feel from other cream foundations.
I live in Hawaii and I think our weather is true test of all foundations.  If what they claim their product is or does, the humidity here is the ultimate test.  With humidity there is a lot of sweating and oiliness. Both factors that can breakdown makeup in an instant - especially if you have combination/oily skin.  As mentioned before, I have the most greatest oily/acneic skin.  I wore my makeup from 10am thru 6pm. My skin looked alive, like skin, not cakey, oxidized or blotchy.  I didn't have much transfer which I love since I have kids that are always so affectionate :). I didn't need to reapply the foundation itself, just touched up with pressed powder on my t-zone once, my skin was still concealed really good (oh here's another perk, after applying foundation, I did NOT need concealer),
I honestly don't know why it took me so long to try this. Now I know what I need to stock up on for my pro kit and personal kit!
Here's a picture of the foundation on my skin tone and skin type

Cheers to the mother of foundation Pearls, Eve!

Sweet pearl dreams makeup lovers!

Maybe It's Maybelline

"Dual tip to create thin precise lines with one side, bold thick lines with the other
2-in-1 dual tip
Glossy formula for bold lines

Why You'll Love It

Experience the revolution in liquid liner: *2-in-1 tip *Glossy formula for bold lines

For Best Results

(1) use flat disk side of tip for a thick dramatic line
(2) turn 90 degrees and use for a thinner sophisticated line." - Maybelline.com

I'm extremely surprised that everything of what this product claims to be is true. The only thing that wasn't mentioned is how waterproof and long-lasting it is.

First picture is of me putting that on at 10:30 am. Very glossy, which was in the product description. If you want more of a matte liner, I'd opt for a gel liner or a cake liner. 2 cake liners I love are made by MUD/Makeup Designory and MAC. It's kind of a hit or miss with the MAC ones. Sometimes one is less opaque then the previous one from MAC (I still love MAC). Cake liners allow you to control opaqueness just by adding more water or less - they never run and are extremely long wearing.

At this time, it 8 hrs later and it was still on, and yes I'm very hygienic and wash my hand after touching anything (what do you expect, I'm a esthetician as well, it's a good habit).
It doesn't seem to show much of a difference. I literally needed to scrub it off my hand. I'm sure a makeup remover off waterproof makeup will take care of that. Opt for a cheaper way, use coconut oil.

The other eyeliner on the top right is the Prestige liquid liner. There was no comparison there. The Prestige didn't have any chance with the waterproof test. The color payoff didn't do what I expected to be.
Maybelline it! One of the best drugstore brands there is. Try there 24hr long lasting gel liner. Very comparable to high end ones.

Give it a try!

The Hair Potion

Ever since I've had my kids, my hair has never been as thick as before. Now with the radiation treatments I've had, my hair has been falling out with the anticipation of getting another bald spot at the top of my head.
I've desperately been searching for wigs online or even hair extensions just to camouflage what's falling out and may come out. While searching all web engines (you have no idea how many times I've typed in hair), there were some natural alternatives to strengthen/thicken hair, help with hair growth, and combat hair loss. It's only made up of two oils which are readily available at any Whole Foods or Down to Earth (we only have two organic stores in Hawaii).
Castor oil benefits:

Regular use on your hair’s roots and scalp will help:

  1. Increase the hair growth
  2. Thicken hair that is thinning out
  3. Reduce and prevent hair damage
  4. Eliminate dry hair
  5. Make hair fuller and shinier
  6. Deeply condition and moisturize hair and scalp
  7. Prevents dry scalp - bye head and shoulders
  8. Boost your hair’s overall health
Coconut oil benefits:

    1. Excellent for repairing damaged hair that has been over-processed, heat damaged, or is just naturally dry.
    2. Is anti-fungal in nature making it a great remedy for dandruff or as a preventative.
    3. "Prevent protein loss and reduce hair porosity makes it a valuable oil for those who chemically relax, regularly heat straighten, or permanently color their hair." - Audrey Sivasothy, a writer on the Yahoo associated content network.
  4. "The folk method of getting rid of head lice in Hawaii is to soak the hair thoroughly with vinegar and leaving it to dry. Do not rinse out. Then coat the hair with the coconut oil and sleep with it on. The nits will comb out easily.." Linda Coconut Diet Forums

To maximize all the benefits of these oils, I mixed both oils. 1 part castor oil and 1 part coconut oil equally and pry it in a clean Johnson and Johnson shampoo bottle. Jamaican Castor oil is said to be the most effective kind of castor oil for hair. You can purchase on Amazon. The coconut oil helps to decrease the thickness of the castor oil as well.
Just like any hair treatment, you wanna concentrate on working the oil into your scalp, hair roots, and hair ends, wherever your hair is dry, frizzy or over processed. As an experiment, I am also applying onto my eyebrows and eyelashes. I figure, why not!

Try your own concoction and leave comments on your road to healthy hair!
